| The Country Food and
Dining Company was established in November 2006. The aim was to
establish a group of high quality, well located farm shop style
businesses, each with a strong on-site catering offer; operating
principally in the South of England. Following an initial private fundraising in 2007 under the Enterprise Investment Scheme, the freehold assets of Highclose Farm Shop, near Marlborough and Hungerford, were acquired in October 2007. Renamed ‘Cobbs Farm Shop & Kitchen’ the premises are now being extended and improved to be ready by late September 2008. Through a further placement by initial investors, together with a fundraising by Smith and Williamson, to date over £5 million has been raised. This has enable us to purchase the freehold assets of Springleaze Farm Shop, near Bath. Founders include Non Executive Chairman David Bruce, who has over 40 years experience in the brewing and leisure industries; Gordon Leatherdale who comes from a banking and military background and Kris Gumbrell, who has 20 years experience in the brewing and catering industry.
