Growth in the dining-out and premium food markets is underpinned by
evolving consumer aspirations; increasing consumer mobility and a
backlash against the binge drinking culture. Destination sites which
provide both dining and retail offerings appear to be increasingly
popular for a broad range of consumers.
The Team
David Bruce, the Non Executive Chairman, is the Chief
Executive of The Capital Pub Company PLC, which he co-founded, and has
been involved in the international brewing and leisure industry for over
40 years in a career that has covered both production and retailing.
David founded Bruce’s Brewery and the first Firkin pub in 1979. The
Capital Pub Company PLC raised over £15 million under the EIS and was
admitted to AIM in June 2007. The Capital Pub Company 2 PLC, which David
also co-founded, raised just under £16 million under the EIS.
Gordon Leatherdale has over 13 years’ experience in
leisure, management and finance. Gordon left Noble Group, the
independent UK investment bank, in August 2006 to pursue his own
business interests. He is a trained cook, a trained journalist and a
member of the Slow Food Movement.
Kris Gumbrell has 20 years’ experience of the
hospitality industry especially in relation to expanding businesses.
Most recently he was Chief Operating Officer of Close Imperial Pub
Company. Previously he has been involved with the formation of two EIS
schemes and was the longest serving operations director in Greene King
PLC.
Exit Strategy
Country Food and Dining will seek a liquidity event
after the three year period by way of a trade sale or return of
cash to Shareholders.
